2013 Family Reunions in New England

2002 Felton Family Reunion, Peabody, Massachusetts

Locke Family Association:    The 123rd Locke Family Association Reunion will be in Concord, New Hampshire on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 2 – 4, 2013.   Events include visiting the New Hampshire Historical Society Museum to view Captain John Locke’s sickle and sword, and the annual association meeting.  Visit the website to download the PDF brochure for the reunion.

Felton Family Association:    The 25th Felton Family Reunion will be held Friday and Saturday. July 26 and 27, 2013 at the Historic Nathaniel Felton Junior and Senior Houses at Brooksby Farm in Peabody, Massachusetts.  See the website for more information.   Please email Mary Kay Felton at for more information.  Events include touring the houses built circa 1645, the cemetery tour, lunch and annual business meeting of the family association, followed by dinner at the Century House restaurant.  Nearby is the Peabody Historical Society and Museum, Salem.

Kimball Family Association:     September 20 and 21 at the Best Western Hotel in Haverhill, Massachusetts.   Saturday will be filled with fun events like a genealogy seminar, silent auction, annual meeting and the awarding of the 2013-2014 scholarship.  See the website for more information.    I’ll be the speaker at the genealogy seminar this year.


Eldred Family Reunion, July 14 at the recreational field at Belvidere Center, Vermont.

Rathbun Rathbone Rathburn, July 15 -18, at the Best Western Mainstay Inn, Newport, Rhode Island, for descendants of John and Margaret (Acres) Rathbone of Lancashire, England, one of 16 original settlers of Block Island in the late 1600s.

Avery Family Reunion, July 20,  Groton, Connecticut

Portsmouth, Rhode Island Family Reunion, July 20, at the Seaconnet Sportsman's Club, 145 Seaconnet Avenue, Portsmouth, Rhode Island.  Celebrate the 375th anniversary of the founding of Portsmouth, a reunion fo rthe early families- Hall, Almy, Albro, Brown, Holder, Brayton, Dennis, Brownell, Hutchinson, Tallman, Thurston, Greene, Hazard, Coggeshall, Cook, Cory, Mott, Slocum, Chase, Pearce, Potter, Sanford, Shearman, Lawton, Borden, Tripp, Cornell, Sisson, Briggs, Freeborn, Durfee, Hicks, Westgate, Wilkey, Maxson, Wilcox, Wood to name a few.  Email for information or see for registration brochure.

112th Alden Kindred Annual Meeting: August 3, for descendants of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins of the Mayflower, at the Alden House, contact the Alden Kindred via email at or by phone at (781) 934-9092.

Kathan Family Ruenion, August 9 - 11, Putney, Vermont at the Putney Inn.  Descendants of Captain John Kathan of Dummerston, now Putney.  The Putney Inn is his original farm.

Sneed Family Reunion, August 16 -18, Bridgeport Holiday Inn, Bridgeport, Connecticut

Tracy Reunion, August 16 - 18, Gouldsboro, Maine, for descendants of Jonathan Tracy and Abigail Riggs, see the website (a closed Facebook group, click "join")

116th Annual Meeting of the John Howland Society, August 23 and 24, banquet and dinner at Plimoth Plantation,  for descendants of John Howland of the Mayflower.

Nickerson Family Reunion:  September 6-8, Harwich, Massachusetts (Cape Cod).  Activities include a boat trip, a visit to a cranberry bog, a walk around Harwich with the Historical Society docents, speakers and visiting with cousins! Dinner at the Captain's Golf Course at at the Nickerson House in Chatham on Sunday.

Greenlaw Family Association: September 6 -8, Deer Isle, Maine

Tenney Family Reunion:  September 13 - 15, Bradford, Massachusetts.  There will be a re-dedication of the Old Bradford Burial Grounds Tenny Memorial Stone, and speaker Marcia Melny will give a presentation at the Haverhill Country Club, meet up at the New England Historic Genealogical Society library, and the TFA business meeting on Sunday, with a tour of Boston via the Bean Town Trolley. 

Wyman Family Association:    September 21st at the Francis Wyman Homestead, 56 Francis Wyman Road, Burlington, Massachusetts.   Contact Jon Wyman at for more information, or check out the website    Events include touring the house and grounds of the Francis Wyman house, the association meeting and a presentation by a costumed interpreter of Pamela Skelton, the last direct descendant of Francis to occupy the house.
